Annette Maxwell Pacilio, MHS '57 - My three standard resolutions: (1) lose fifteen pounds, (2) exercise more regularly, and (3) stop smoking. Although the probability of fulfilling any of the three resolutions borders on zero, I still keep making them in the hope that I will truly become motivated.

Jim Beals, MHS '57 - I'm going to give up $10.00 hand-rolled cigars, 12 year old single malt Scotch, and chasing woodchucks with a front-end loader.  Although fun, they are all deleterious to my health and pocketbook.  So, it looks like it's back to Marlboro's, Bud Light, and watching old video tapes of Evel Kneivel.  A Happy New Year to all.
Janice Brooks, MHS '57 - "We are each other's harvest; we are each other's business; we are each other's magnitude and bond." -- Gwendolyn Brooks (1917-2000), African American poet, winner of a Pulitzer Prize in 1950, poet laureate of Illinois: inspired by Harlem Renaissance poet Paul Dunbar, her poems expressed everyday life in the inner city.

Happy New Millennium 2001.

Quentin Gilman, MHS '57 - I want to wish everyone in the MHS and LHS classes a healthy and prosperous New Year. For my part, I'm going to do my best to remember punch lines to jokes, and I am also going to quit yelling "Go Tiger" in the middle of Hoyt Kerr's back swing when we're playing golf. Other than that, I'll try and remember what Eleanor Roosevelt said, "The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams."  and hope I quit having nightmares.
Fred Boone, MHS '56 - Rather than give something up, I am going to take a more diverse route and attempt to be more positive in my commitment to:  (A)  Instilling some sense of moral responsibility in Johnny Yowell, (B) Teaching Bill Washington the Macarena, (C)  Assisting Quentin Gilman through his Rogaine withdrawal, and (D) Writing the definitive treatise on the perfect Cuba Libra.
Al Chandler, MHS '57 - I wish that all my classmates have a very Happy New Year that is both a prosperous and healthy one. Now that I have made contact again, I would like to hear from all of you. Happy New Year to all.
John King, MHS '57 - I don't know how 2001 can top 2000 when you consider the reunion we had, my surviving a Canadian fishing trip with Quentin Gilman and Tom Dunn, not to mention theY2K scare and the Presidential election, plus having the opportunity to start new projects and even finish a few.  Like Annette Maxwell Pacilio, I should quit smoking, lose 15 pounds and exercise regularly, but also like Annette, I think the prospects are close to zero.  With that said, I sincerely hope we all have the best New Year ever.
Nancy McVicar Leutert, MHS '57 - The year 2000 was focused on children and grandchildren and it was wonderful. The year 2001 will be focused on John and Nancy and it will be even better. Best of health and happiness to all.
